Founded in 1994, the Ted Mitchell Memorial Scholarship is awarded to two Marin County student athletes (one male and one female) in the amount of $1,500. Scholarships are awarded at the school awards night of each recipient.
The 2011 winners were Maddie Tight of Terra Linda and Evan Egas of Marin Catholic.
Application
Interested student athletes should submit the following information:
1. Name, High School, GPA and appropriate contact information including mailing address, email and phone.
2. Sports in which you have participated, listed by year.
3. Academic awards you have received, listed by year.
4. Significant school activities in which you participate.
5. Significant ongoing community activities in which you participate.
6. Other activities that have been important to you during High School.
7. Your paid work experience, listed by year.
8. The colleges and universities to which you are applying.
9. A no longer than one-page statement about the ways in which your experience in sports has helped shape your future personal, academic and athletic goals. Within that page, please provide a short paragraph describing what you see yourself doing at age 40.
10. Please provide two letters of recommendation - one athletic or adademic and one from a peer.
Submitting Application
You can submit applications by mail or by email - we have no preference. All appications are scanned and made available to the Scholarship Committee electronically.
